What To Wear

Let’s try not to overthink what you will wear to your engagement shoot. Let’s just say it would be ideal to get to the sweet spot between Formal Glam and Everyday Casual. It’s about wearing what fits your personalities so everything will feel natural but at the same time this is the time to be stars! Remember…. these will be the photos you will use for your invitations, save the dates, and when you see these photos 50 years from now; you will not want to see photos with last minute outfits that don’t match the overall vibe.

Two Looks Ladies!??

I will say going for two looks is completely up to you. I suggest you highly consider if you would like to have a bag with your clothes in it to change. I would only recommend that you do two looks if you all are driving lol. Either way….. when in doubt SAY YES TO THE DRESS! It doesn’t matter what vibe you go for! A dress always looks great!

Now For The Hard Part Guys

When in doubt, go formal! You can never go wrong with this look and your fiancé will love it! Is this a requirement..?? No, not at all. But if you don’t have an idea of what you want to go for then throwing together a blazer and jeans or going all out formal would look great for two reasons.

1. It gives you a very distinguished look.

2. You’re gonna have to wear a suit on your wedding day anyway so you might as well get a little practice and look good while doing it!

It’s Time To Pop Some Champagne

One thing I will bring with me free of charge to you is a bottle of champagne for y’all to pop and make a toast in celebration of your engagement. This is one the best parts of the shoot because I know my guys always lock in at this point. Fellas your job is simple. Pop the cork, shake it up with your finger slightly covering the top, and let it spray like crazy!!! Ladies your job is even more plain. Just grab your man’s arm and allow his inner 8 year old to flow lol. You all will then share a glass of engagement champagne and guess what!?? I got DOPE pictures of all of it!

Looks That Look Good!

Formal Glam

Leah & Andrew locked in! A man always looks good in a blue suit! Leah’s dress coordinates perfectly with his look and that is the ultimate goal! I let them know this look was a 10 out of 10 without a doubt.

Romantic Chic

Olivia & David definitely understood what worked to best to immortalize their photos forever! A man can never go wrong with a slim fit blazer, turtle neck, fitted jeans, and the boots were coordinated perfectly. The design of Olivia’s dress is fitted to her shape and the material and color did not clash with David’s look! Not to mention the pearl shoes were a great compliment to her style!

Romantic Chic

Wear what makes sense for your style because the camera can tell when you are comfortable in your outfit. Sharidan and Darnell look the part with their environment and the camera knows it. Sharidan made a great choice with a dark green dress because darker colors tend to look more flattering during these types of shoots. Darnell is rocking the trench coat with a turtleneck, black jeans, and dope shoes. Altogether these two have a great look!

Fitted Casual

TJ and Shawnice went with the leather look and it set them apart from the rest! They both made sure everything fit perfectly, not too tight and not too loose! By the way, look at the shoes. TJ is wearing some sleek dressier shoes but he threw the outfit together with a leather jacket and jeans. Shawnice with the long leather jacket and boots is so her! You can tell!!

Scott And Sara did their shoot and I remember thinking “Are they getting married right now?” I will tell you this…. This works only because Scott dresses like this every day at work. It’s obvious that he feels right at home. Sara on the other hand does not dress like this everyday but I’m sure it’s easy to see that she was ready to. She chose a perfectly styled dress which is a perfect contrast to her skin and dark hair.

Rachel and Ryan did not play around with their shoot! This look is very formal to say the least! Rachel has a very bubbly but direct personality and her dress, hair, and shoes communicate all of the above. Ryan on the other hand is very serious and charming at the same time; a very rare combination. His suit is the personification of his aura and that’s why these two looked so incredible on camera!
